Dejavato started to build partnership with a local NGO, called LMDH Wana Lestari in Wonosari Village, District of Pegandon. This local NGO’s activities mostly concern in environment preservation surrounding the village. Besides, Dejavato also cooperated with the local government of Kendal Regency which has given big support and assistance during the project.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_deqPd91J-VA/SEBencYYwPI/AAAAAAAAAfo/z1aQvHieeU4/s1600-h/2.JPG"&gt;&lt;img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5206265200966680818" style="FLOAT: right; MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px; CURSOR: hand" alt="Dejavato Indonesia" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_deqPd91J-VA/SEBencYYwPI/AAAAAAAAAfo/z1aQvHieeU4/s200/2.JPG" border="0" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;Wonosari village is a small village on the hill located about 15 km south of Kendal City. In the past the village was surrounded by the forest, but few years ago the forest had serious damaged because of illegal lodging. So that’s why the LMDH Wana Lestari was formed. Since several years ago, together with local villagers, Forestry Department and local government they started planting trees.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_deqPd91J-VA/SEBe58YYwRI/AAAAAAAAAf4/8PPTP6prVVc/s1600-h/3.JPG"&gt;&lt;img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5206265518794260754" style="FLOAT: left; MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; CURSOR: hand" alt="Dejavato Indonesia" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_deqPd91J-VA/SEBe58YYwRI/AAAAAAAAAf4/8PPTP6prVVc/s200/3.JPG" border="0" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;There were 22 participants in this workcamp, that mostly were university’s students. The main activity was building a small house from bamboos for a library for local children and young people. We called this house as a “Reading Center”, where the volunteers also made some bookshelves for putting the books. The Korean volunteers also donated English reading books, dictionaries and English learning books.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_deqPd91J-VA/SEBfFMYYwSI/AAAAAAAAAgA/t5JKgM2TB-U/s1600-h/4.JPG"&gt;&lt;img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5206265712067789090" style="FLOAT: right; MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px; CURSOR: hand" alt="Dejavato Indonesia" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_deqPd91J-VA/SEBfFMYYwSI/AAAAAAAAAgA/t5JKgM2TB-U/s200/4.JPG" border="0" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;The volunteers also had daily activities in teaching English for students in the Wonosari Elementary school. The response of the students and teachers were very great and enthusiastic. The volunteers also gave a hand cutting and cleaning nails of the students. The workcamp was held Kedungmundu District, East Semarang. Dejavato cooperated with Ar-Rodhiyah Moslem Orphanage House, an orphanage and a kinder-garden which belong to the Rodhiyah Muslim Foundation. The orphanage is home to 100 orphans. Through this project, we want to support the Rodhiyah Foundation in its work for the future of the orphans and stimulate intercultural encounter.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_deqPd91J-VA/SEBg08YYwaI/AAAAAAAAAhA/psmBbXR0GKI/s1600-h/12.JPG"&gt;&lt;img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5206267631918170530" style="FLOAT: right; MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px; CURSOR: hand" alt="Dejavato Indonesia" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_deqPd91J-VA/SEBg08YYwaI/AAAAAAAAAhA/psmBbXR0GKI/s200/12.JPG" border="0" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;The volunteers taught English inside the orphanage and promoted both personal hygiene (important for the children) and environmental protection (waste management). They also spent organizing games and leisure activities for and with the pupils, as well as held cooking exchange session. Besides doing main activities in the orphanage house, they also visited a neighboring elementary school for teaching some basics English, songs and games.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;During the leisure times they played football with the orphans. The type of this camp was Construction and Education. There were 7 participants in this camp from: CADIP Canada, IWO Korea and Indonesia.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Kemudo village is situated in Prambanan district where there is a famous world heritage lies, The Prambanan Temple. This village was struck by massive earthquake in May 2006. &lt;a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_deqPd91J-VA/SEBYOcYYv9I/AAAAAAAAAdY/lC90ku6CP6E/s1600-h/2.JPG"&gt;&lt;img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5206258174400184274" style="FLOAT: right; MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px; CURSOR: hand" alt="Dejavato Indonesia" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_deqPd91J-VA/SEBYOcYYv9I/AAAAAAAAAdY/lC90ku6CP6E/s200/2.JPG" border="0" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;Almost 90% houses were collapsed and damaged. Since then, the villagers lived in plastic tent or temporary house made from bamboos. While the time being, the local people started to build their home step by step. They also planted trees along the road to the village. The volunteers also did school visit to the local elementary school and did some sport competition with local youngsters. During the camp they also joined the Moslem Sacrifice Day by cutting goats and cows with the local people in the mosque, visited world heritage site, Prambanan Temple., and learning how to paint traditional cloth, Batik.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Sidorejo Bilateral Work Camp - IWO - DEJAVATO: 17 – 29 December 2007&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_deqPd91J-VA/SEBYoMYYv_I/AAAAAAAAAdo/50D9XfUEnUc/s1600-h/4.JPG"&gt;&lt;img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5206258616781815794" style="FLOAT: right; MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px; CURSOR: hand" alt="Dejavato Indonesia" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_deqPd91J-VA/SEBYoMYYv_I/AAAAAAAAAdo/50D9XfUEnUc/s200/4.JPG" border="0" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;The Sidorejo Bilateral Work Camp was held from 17 – 29 December 2007 in Sidorejo Village, Kajoran District, Magelang Regency – Central Java. The type of this camp was Renovation. There were 21 participants: 17 Korean students with teachers and 4 Indonesian&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_deqPd91J-VA/SEBY1MYYwAI/AAAAAAAAAdw/milr13J1JCQ/s1600-h/5.JPG"&gt;&lt;img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5206258840120115202" style="FLOAT: left; MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; CURSOR: hand" alt="Dejavato Indonesia" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_deqPd91J-VA/SEBY1MYYwAI/AAAAAAAAAdw/milr13J1JCQ/s200/5.JPG" border="0" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;Sidorejo Village is located about 15 kilometers on the west part of Magelang city, on the slope of Sumbing Mountain. The village is quite isolated and should pass the macadam (the road made from the stones) and surrounded by the rice fields. They also involved the students in their activities. They don’t have formal school building, but the teaching activities are conducted at villagers houses and the center. The work camp is led by two leaders : Ms. Reena (Indonesian leader) and Ms. Kim Jiseon (Korean Leader). It was quite big event in the village with a lot of spectators and attended by the Vice Head of Regency. That sport competition was recorded and shoot by 5 national TV channels. The type of this camp was Education – Health. There were 10 participants in this camp from various countries: YAP Italy (1), CB Belgium (1), AFS Netherlands (1), IWO Korea (4), and Indonesia (3).&lt;br /&gt;&lt;a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_deqPd91J-VA/SEBPpcYYvpI/AAAAAAAAAa4/BLlL6OZSXPQ/s1600-h/2.JPG"&gt;&lt;img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5206248742652001938" style="FLOAT: right; MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px; CURSOR: hand" alt="Dejavato Indonesia" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_deqPd91J-VA/SEBPpcYYvpI/AAAAAAAAAa4/BLlL6OZSXPQ/s200/2.JPG" border="0" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Sidorejo Village is located about 15 kilometers on the west part of Magelang city, on the slope of Sumbing Mountain. The village is quite isolated and should pass the macadam (the road made from the stones) and surrounded by the rice fields. There were 6 classes and the volunteers were divided into small group of teaching. The volunteers also made some wooden shoe-shelves and painted in beautiful colors. The type of this camp was Education – Culture. There were 5 participants in this work camp from IWO Korea (3), YAP Italy (1) and Indonesia (leader)&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;In this work camp, Dejavato Foundation working together with local partner Argowilis Non Formal Education Center. The festival was held by raising Koinobori ( flags with the shapes of various fish from Japan) in front of Dejavato’s office. This festival had aims to celebrate Indonesian Independence day as well as introducing different culture (Japanese culture) to local people. Excursion on Karimunjawa Island. The Karimunjawa Islands is located on the north of Java Island, it’s about 90 kilometers north east of Semarang. It is a group of islands which are located between Java Island and Kalimantan Island. The main big islands are Karimunjawa, Kemujan, Menjangan Besar, and Menjangan Kecil. The population in Karimunjawa is about 4000 people. The islands are part of Jepara Regency.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_deqPd91J-VA/SEBJUMYYvaI/AAAAAAAAAZA/ZDgPT4heY7E/s1600-h/2.JPG"&gt;&lt;img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5206241780510014882" style="FLOAT: left; MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; CURSOR: hand" alt="Dejavato Indonesia" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_deqPd91J-VA/SEBJUMYYvaI/AAAAAAAAAZA/ZDgPT4heY7E/s200/2.JPG" border="0" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;To reach the islands by taking speed boat from Semarang, KARTINI Boat, which leaves once in a week ( every Saturday at 09.00) and back on Sunday at 02.00 pm. It takes about 3.5 hours from Semarang to the islands. Another way is by taking a ferry from Jepara Town every Saturday and Wednesday and takes about 6 hours!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;She left Semarang to the islands by Kartini Speed Boat in the morning and arrived in the islands at noon accompanied by one of Dejavato’s volunteers. Karimunjawa is wellknown as one of the best snorkeling and diving area in Indonesia or even in the world, because they still have very natural and beautiful corals. She also spent her time for relax by sun bathing on the white sand beaches and reading her favorite books:)&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_deqPd91J-VA/SEBKAsYYvcI/AAAAAAAAAZQ/iQur0UDBMgY/s1600-h/4.JPG"&gt;&lt;img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5206242545014193602" style="FLOAT: left; MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; CURSOR: hand" alt="Dejavato Indonesia" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_deqPd91J-VA/SEBKAsYYvcI/AAAAAAAAAZQ/iQur0UDBMgY/s200/4.JPG" border="0" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;They also visited Menjangan Besar Island where there is some ponds for breeding sharks, turtles and fish. She also got challenge in Dejavato Fear Factor to swim with sharks in the sharks’ pond.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;She and one of Dejavato’s volunteers also explored the island by going around the island by motorbike. Her main activity is teaching English for local students at Argowilis Center as well as local people who are interested in learning English. Besides, she also have additional activities like learning making coconut sugar, fishing, making tofu, planting rice, playing traditional musical instrument “Calung”, and excursion with her host family. She is very active in joining the local communities meeting, discussion and seminar. She started her project on 6th July 2007. During her stay in Semarang, she is hosted by local staff of Puskesmas.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;During joining the project, she will have project in two different PUSKESMAS. On her base Puskesmas Karangayu, she helps the local doctor in visiting and examine the patients, taking part in Posyandu ( Regular Public Service) for babies, mothers and elder people.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;On 28/7, She had opportunity to visit the Korean Group Camp in Sokawera village, together with other MTV volunteers. She also took a apart in doing renovation and construction work with Korean volunteers.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;On 31/7, She finished her first term project at Puskesmas Karangayu. She started her program on the first Monday of July (2/7) and will finish the project on 27/8.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;First Week (1/7 – 6/7), Dejavato conducted basic training for her at Dejavato office. During her stay, she conducted English and Dutch teaching program for local students at Argowilis Center. After from Sokawera Village, she moved to Sidorejo Village, it’s about 60 kilometers South of Semarang City. The Sidorejo Village is located on the slope of Sumbing Mountain which is quite remote area with beautiful nature surrounds and cool climate. In this village, she stays with Mr. Moko, as the host family. She takes one month MTV project at Dejavato by choosing the PUSKESMAS (Public Health Center) in Semarang City. She started her project on 6th July 2007. During her stay in Semarang, she is hosted by local staff of Puskesmas.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;During joining the project, she will have project in two different PUSKESMAS. The team consists of a doctor (Dr. Iwan) and 3 volunteers (Mr. Ketut, Ms. Astri, Ms. Ririn). This time we visited and had medical check up for 2 villages people, Taji Village and Bugisan village, where both villages are also badly damaged because of massive earthquake on 27th May 2006.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;DEJAVATO cooperates with State University of Semarang (UNNES) from Public Health Department and Psychology Departmen, and dispatched about 76 students from both departments to earthquake areas. The students were placed in 6 villages with 12 students for each village, and will stay there for about 45 days started on 8th August 2006. Under supervision of Mrs. Maryati (one of senior lecturers from university), the students have main tasks giving therapy healing and reconstruction work. Meanwhile, DEJAVATO supports medical team with medicines.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The first medical service was held in TAJI VILLAGE. During the service, we had 78 patients, and most of them were older people and the rest were kids and babies. The medical service in Bugisan Village started 01.30 – 16.30 p.m. From this village we had 85 patients from various ages. But still, most of them were old people. Since it’s already Summer in Indonesia, many of the patients have throat problems (coughing), throat irritation, eyes irritation, lungs problem, skin diseases, injured, and some stomach problems.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;While waiting for their parents on medical service, DEJAVATO Team held entertainment program for children. It’s also held to celebrate Indonesia Independence Day on 17th August, we held some games competition for kids inside a tent, like playing kendama, how to use chopsticks, and how to wear Japanese costume, yukata &amp;amp; happi. It is also the way to introduce other culture for children with playing some Japanese’ games, hopefully they will have more knowledge. We also gave some gifts for the winners. We had collected the goods from donators like instant noodles, cooking oil, biscuits, rice, baby’s food, milk, clothes, sugar, tea, medicines, etc. We also got some money donation, and then we allocated the money for buying additional goods. We also got support some aid goods from volunteers in Yogyakarta.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Our first donation was dispatched to Kemudo Village (30/5), in Klaten Region which almost 90% houses collapsed and the rest are in badly damaged. Many people were sleeping and were entombed in their bedrooms. Estimated about 600,000 locals were homeless, much higher than official figures and many took refuge in makeshift tent cities. Hospitals have been overwhelmed. Field hospitals have been set up, and people have been treated by health care providers on the streets. At the same time, many people were reluctant to enter hospitals because they feared structural damage caused byaftershocks.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;As the death toll from the quake in Yogyakarta and Central Java passed 5,130 Monday (29/5), rescue workers continued the desperate search for people among the rubble.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Most of the dead are being found in Bantul, a district near the Java coast just south of the historic tourist destination of Yogyakarta, about 250 miles (400 kilometers) southeast of the capital, Jakarta. Where other lot of death being found in Klaten Distric, about 80 kilometers from Semarang.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;As a solidarity action for the quake victims and survivors, Mr. Ketut Purwantoro, on behalf of DEJAVATO INDONESIA holds DEJAVATO CARE, by donating 5 plastic tents with 3 kilograms ropes, 20 packs instant noodles, and 48 liters cooking oil.
